The Complete Guide To Fall Fashion

It’s mid-September and I think it’s safe to say summer is over, at least in Toronto. The sky is grey, night is creeping in sooner, and of course the temperature has dropped. The summer months are my favorite time of year but with fall well underway, I think it’s time my wardrobe and I adjust to the new changes.

So what’s the best way to ease the transition? To embrace all the good fall fashion the season has to offer! I’ve compiled a six-look launchpad to get you thinking all things autumn. From layering jackets to cozy knitwear, I’ve got you covered.

Icy Monochrome

Some rules are made to be broken. Especially that one about not wearing white after Labor Day. Resist the urge to drape yourself in darkness and opt for lighter hues instead. Layered looks like this one are great for early fall when the temperature can vary wildly, even in the same day.

Luxe Textures and Tones

As the colder months commence, our sartorial choices expand to include rich textures like satin and suede. They convey warmth and sophistication. Choose rich, deep tones to double down on the luxury factor.

Mad for Plaid

Grandpa Plaid has been continually popping up on the fashion landscape for a a year or so now and if you haven’t tried it yet now is the time. There are so many affordable pieces to mix and match to create an eye-catching, head-to-toe print look. Keep the vibe going with a fanny pack (or waist belts as they’re called now) but don’t forget feminine touches like sleek boots and jewelry.

Girl About Town

If you do a lot of running around like me you’re probably partial to sneakers but that doens’t mean your look can’t still be chic. A feminine, wide-leg pant is a perfect pair for laid-back sneakers. Complete the look with a great coat and you’ll be set for the day.
