Days are getting shorter. Nights are getting cooler. There’s no way to avoid the fact that it’s autumn and summer is over. Luckily, I had this cozy Fila crop top to help with the transition from my barely there outfits of summer to layered looks for fall.
Fila For The Win
In the summertime I tend to dress a bit more girly and body conscious but as soon as the autumn breezes start rustling the leaves, I go into full tomboy mode. Grunge, raw edge denim, and flannel are major inspirations for me. I love boxy cuts and lots of layers to shield me from the slowly creeping cold.
During September and October it can be a bit tricky to dress. Some days are warm still, some days are freezing. The temperature can fluctuate from day to day and even from hour to hour. What’s my way of combating that?
LAYERS! During this time more than ever the use of layers is my way of keeping up with the changing weather. A crop top like this Fila tee is good because it’s fun for a warm autumn afternoon but still works under other pieces without getting too hot. If by evening it’s getting a bit chilly, a denim jacket like this one by H&M is good for sartorial shelter.
Tying a flannel or sweatshirt around your waist can be as much for fashion as it is for function. While it works as an accessory around the waist, it could also be added to this look as a third layer for more warmth.
