The Evolution of Mirian

I started this blog about 4 years ago and wow has it been a ride! I’ve grown and changed so much! As I reflect on my years as a blogger, Barbie is also reflecting on her years as an icon for girls around the world. It’s Barbie’s 60th anniversary and to celebrate Toronto fashion designer Narces created this beautiful dress. Now more than ever, while frolicking in this beautiful design, I started to think about my work and legacy and what’s to come.

Evolution and Growth

When we think about where Barbie started out 60 years ago, it’s amazing to see her evolution. She’s grown and changed with the times. Her progress has reflected the progress of society, of the world, and of the girls who adore her.

I had blogged before I started Love Mirian, but never with dedicated regularity. When I started this blog I told myself that I really wanted to push myself to be consistent and see what would happen when I applied myself. My evolution and growth as a person during this time has been huge!

I’ve explored different fashion and writing styles. I’ve learned about what kind of business I want. And with all this new knowledge and betterment, after much consideration, I have come to the decision to retire my position as a blogger.

Blogging has brought me so much joy. It became my creative outlet when I decided to walk away from a career in fashion styling and it allowed me to pour my heart, soul, and creative energy into something that was wholly my own. But sometimes we outgrow things and while I am not giving up my work in the creative industries, I am giving up the platform of blogging to prepare myself for new doors to open.

Over the last 18 months or so I’ve increasing felt a pull towards social platforms over traditional blogging platforms. I love the freedom they provide and the two-way dialogue they encourage. I decided that rather than continue to run a dedicated blog, my creativity, energy, and personality will be better used as a creative director and content creator in the photo and video realms.

Now that I’ve made this decision there are going to be several changes that happen. This blog will transition to a temporary look for a few weeks and then my work and the way I display it will take on a whole new look entirely. I don’t want to say too much now, but I can say I’m so excited for this new incarnation and I can’t wait to show you. Thank you so much for all of your support of While it’s goodbye to this blog and blogging as I’ve been doing it, it’s hello to so many new paths and trust me, it’s going to be great. <3
